Client Financial Relief Coordinator

The Client Financial Relief Coordinator position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance and Training and will be responsible for the management of all client relief grant assistance funds offered to JFSLA clients that are funded through a variety of individual donation and philanthropic foundations.  The role includes staff training on all grant eligibility and requirements, processing of applications/requests, budget tracking of individual funds, collaboration with program and finance departments, and completion of reports to internal and external funders/stakeholders.    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in social work, psychology, or other human services related field.  
  • Minimum one-year direct client experience required in social service or case management roles.
  • Strong administrative skills including Excell and all Microsoft Office software.  Demonstrated ability to learn database functions easily and quickly through electronic health record platforms.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to impart information both in one-on-one and group settings
  • Good knowledge of public benefits, emergency assistance programs and community resources
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently; detail-oriented; have solid organizational skills and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities and complete projects within specified timeframes
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines
  • Current unrestricted CA Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment

 Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the administration of a variety of funds designed to support JFSLA clients in need of financial assistance to meet basic needs of food, medical and housing.  
  • Develop clear, user-friendly process flows for eligibility determination and fund disbursement.
  • Develop presentation materials for outreach and training of social workers/case managers across all program areas on the client assistance funds available including eligibility, application and processing.  
  • Develop collaborative and effective working relationships with agency finance team to ensure correct coding of funds distributed.  
  • Create internal procedures and systems for the process mapping of first point of contact with staff requesting funds through the point of distribution, including tracking and reporting. Create systems of reconciliation both internally and externally as needed.  
  • Assist with development of eligibility criteria when new funds are created.  
  • Complete accurate reports including both data and narrative information for funders.  
  • Support full transition to Electronic Health Record of all related funds in client records 
  • Other related responsibilities as needed
